WORK CULTURE IN AMERICA
In the U.S., private sector employment accounts for the largest share of jobs, to be exact around 74 percent of the American workforce. It is interesting to note that almost 20 percent of the American workforce is working in small business enterprises that employ less than 20 people. Majority of organizations are working towards workplace flexibility to increase productivity and work-life balance. Workplace flexibility recognizes the different individual needs. Flexible workplace policies, such as compensatory time off instead of overtime, diverse work schedules, and part-time employment opportunities, allow employees and employers to collaborate and choose solutions that fits the individual’s circumstances. Part-time employment opportunities make up almost 16 percent of the total jobs.
